The most economical way to have your party catered is to use our 'Catering‑To‑Go' menu. We do the cooking; you pick up the food at Jhon’s Place and set it out for your quests. We provide napkins, plasticware, plates, and if you order beverage service, cups.  And if requested, we can provide wire racks to hold the aluminum pans, sterno, and serving utensils.

Frequently Asked Questions

 

Where are you located?  
In Old Forge, PA.

What areas do you service?
We service the greater Wyoming Valley Area: from and including Carbondale to Wilkes Barre, generally within a 25-mile radius from downtown Old Forge.

Are you affiliated with any Restaurants?
We are a restaurant, and we provide banquet and catering services, with all food prepared here in our kitchens.

What are your Catering prices?
Our prices vary from $13.95 to $17.95 per person, plus Pennsylvania sales tax. We can prepare a custom catered buffet, but you must request a price quote.

Do you have references?
Yes. We will supply reference contacts upon request.

If my budget is limited, how may I best utilize your services?
Contact us at the restaurant to discuss our “Catering–To-Go.”  Telephone is 570-­457-5470.  You pick up these budget priced items and serve.

Do you provide linen, silverware and glassware?
Yes, on special supply requests.  The base package includes napkins, plasticware utensils, and napkins. 

Do you provide bartenders and servers?
Yes, bartenders and servers are included in all full service catering jobs. We do not provide bartenders and servers for 'drop off' and 'you pick up' events or ones without a catering contract.

What is 'drop off' service?
We bring a buffet to you, set it up and return later. There will be no servers. A delivery & pick-up fee is charged.

What is your ‘pick up' service?
You pick up the food at our restaurant; selections are from our Dinner Menu.

If my facility does not have tables and chairs, can you provide them for me?
Yes, we can rent them to you.

How many servers do you provide at my event?
As a general rule, we provide one server for every thirty people at a buffet. We provide one server for every twenty people at a sit down dinner.

Do you serve breakfast?
Yes, we will do brunch after 10:00 am.

Do you have recommendations for Bakeries, DJ's, Photographers, and Florists?
Yes, please ask for our list of Recommended Vendors.

          Dry Bar

                   Very helpful for a budget conscious event, or when a bar is not required.

          Hosted Beer and Wine

                   Cost effective and keeps the bar line moving forward.

          Hosted Full Bar

                   For special events the occasion may call for a bar with full options.

          Cash Bar

                   For a fully optioned bar, but more cost effective for the host.

FOOD PRESENTATION METHODS

          Passed hor d’oeurves

                   Works well as a pre-dinner appetizer or as the sole service of the party,
                   although this takes wait staff.

          Stationary hor d’oeurves

                   Works well when guests move around within the event area.

          Buffet

                   A popular choice and familiar to everyone.

          Plated Service

                   At a Plated Meal, a tuxedoed waiter serves plated courses to individual diners.

          French Service

                   With French Service, waiters serve an entire table from one beautifully
                   presented platter.
